donthatedontkillThis evening I felt very much like I'd like to see friends but the idea of having to spend the energy of being in the "presence" of another person was something between exhausting and panic inducing. I've been pushing that social battery hard lately. It's moments like these when you feel autism as a disability. TJإِنْـطِـواءْ (introversion) Among all the psychological schemes that describe behavior, I'd argue that introversion is the one that is the most misunderstood or misinterpreted; at least by the public domain I'd say. Commonly, people imagine introvert people as those who just don't like to be around others much, or find their joy when being alone, or even shy. While all of that do have some truth in it, but it's not all the truth there is to be. Introverts still yearn for that social connection - they can still go out and even party, but their "social battery" is just short-lived. They are picky when it comes to whom they connect with, because the wrong connection can easily cause their battery to be depleted. Now, imagine such individuals being in a social circle which has no connection at all - definitely, there is no way to recharge their batteries; Such batteries which are essential to let them feel good about themselves and that they are not going in this life alone, fighting all the invisible beasts of this life on their own. For this reason, I'd say, most introverts are mistaken to be loners or lonely people. For the majority of cases, they are indeed so, because they can't find the proper connection they are yearning for. The world feels, to them, just a jungle with roaring animals without any meaningful aim or purpose but to show the power and might of each one of them. Thus, the nutshell tightens as the time ticks away off their lives. anubis2814Over time I have noticed a steep decline in my <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=youtube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#youtube</a> channel <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=monetization" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#monetization</a> , yet I see people with inferior channels and even video and acting quality make serious money. For me, knowledge and presentation of knowledge in a digestible is key to videos I want to watch which means I'm in a small bubble of a wider world of human raw vulnerability channels. One of the big reasons I grew at all in my <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=atheist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#atheist</a> days was that I gave direct raw vulnerable first hand accounts of my negative (and a few positive) experiences with <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=religion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#religion</a> and how I grew out of that into a better person. I also was showing my face, my awkwardness and my rough edge with minimal edits. As videos got more professional over time and trying to keep up with that got more difficult, I shifted over to image based videos fully and haven't had my face on cam for probably 3-4 years now. I feel like if I want to go forward at all, especially if it comes to making money, I will need to go back on camera and dilute the amount of information I put into one video to make it more digestible from a trusted vulnerable face that a video I want to watch which is a information dense video with as much knowledge and nuance packed in as possible, but then again I'm on the <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=autism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#autism</a> <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=spectrum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#spectrum</a> and most normies don't enjoy that at all. I play almost all videos at 2x speed, unless the accent gets in the way. I'm going to have to commit or not, but I will make that decision after I'm done with the majority of my solarpunkusa channel topics. I have a feeling that these vulnerable videos are much more of a draw because people are so <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=lonely" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#lonely</a> and don't know how to make friends, so they rely on parasocial relationships to get that same fix. Sustainable <a href="https://friendica.myportal.social/search?tag=communities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#communities</a> have knowledgeable seniors you know how to interact with without effort, most don't know how to have those kinds of relationships. Just going to have to figure out how to blend leftish politics and personal vulnerability together.
