astroPugI am still thinking about Haru Urara, the race horse famous for being a perennial loser who never gave up. Most of us here in the States did not hear about her until the popularity of Uma Musume, the horse racing game where players race anthropomorphized versions of real and famous Japanese race horses. She never won’t a single race during her active racing career. I learned that she lived the softest of retirements, where fans and gamers sent her stable money for her favorite type of grass, which is the most wholesome thing. She passed away yesterday, having brought out, I think, something good and wholesome in people.
