Androcat<p>If you think defederation is somehow a terrible threat to the fedi, you have no actual understanding of the fedi.</p><p>The right not to associate with poorly moderated instances is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to maintaining a tolerable atmosphere where also non-privileged people can thrive.</p><p>The instance I'm on has silenced Mastodon Social, and it's fine. Awesome , in fact.</p><p>Because here's the thing: The human attention span isn't infinite.<br>You ability to consume toots is not infinite.<br>You don't need to see everything, because you won't actually see everything.</p><p>Nobody drinks the feed uncut.<br>Connoisseurs cut it in different ways.</p><p>If you don't cut it, you're just chugging a vile mix of whatever bottles are on the shelf.</p><p>Schnapps with Doctor Pepper and Armagnac and Raki and Bourbon and Ouzo and Mountain Dew and Fizzy Orange. </p><p>Like a dumbass teenager that's siphoning off fractions from Dad's liquor cabinet.</p><p>But nobody's stopping you from doing that... unless you're one of the assholes the other instances don't want spoiling their flavor.</p><p>In which case, you're the real threat to the fedi, and should fuck off to Bluesky already.</p><p><a href="https://toot.cat/tags/FediPol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FediPol</span></a></p>

Ralf hatte mich auch explizit dazu informiert. Inzwischen setzt er aber (weitgehend?) auf Wikidata (was auch sehr sinnvoll ist).</p><p>Ich denke aber <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/fedipol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fedipol</span></a> hat nach wie vor seine Berechtigung, weil gerade für lokale Akteur:innen ein eigener Wikidata-Eintrag ggf. eine relevante Hürde darstellt.</p><p>Die Herausforderung ist dann nur, beide Datenquellen widerspruchsfrei zu halten.</p>
