The Dinosaur Dave<p>This weeks <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/Lego" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Lego</span></a> <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/FossilFriday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FossilFriday</span></a> is <a href="https://sauropods.win/tags/Cryolophosaurus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cryolophosaurus</span></a> </p><p>In 1990-91, David Elliot, part of William Roy Hammers team, found fossils on Mount Kirkpatrick in the Beardmore Glacier region of the Transantarctic Mountains.</p><p>Over that summer, his tam worked at over 13,000 feet, to extract and move over 2300kg of fossil bearing rock.</p><p>In 1994, Hammer formally named Cryolophosaurus ellioti</p><p>In 2003, a team returned to the same area, and found even more fossils, only about 30 meters higher up the mountain.</p>

It represents the only complete skull of a fossil amphisbaenian from Europe, where the fossil record mainly consists of vertebrae and jaws 🦎</p>
