SaustrupIn an interesting twisty sidetrack of events, I found myself installing <a href="https://mstdn.dk/tags/FreeDOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FreeDOS</a> on my newly acquired <a href="https://mstdn.dk/tags/Commodore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Commodore</a> PC. It took a gazillion years, but otherwise went fine. Without having investigated it, I would assume the reason is that the install process is unpacking zip files, and this machine is a little slow.Havent had a chance to really test it yet, but it's running <a href="https://mstdn.dk/tags/NortonCommander" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NortonCommander</a> without any issues. The root files are named a little different and there are some new commands, but I believe their goal is to be almost 100% backwards compatible. Native FAT32 support too.It comes with a boat of additional packages, but I'm uncertain as to how I can install those with the fancy built-in package installer, without a CD-ROM or USB drive.<a href="https://mstdn.dk/tags/vintagecomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#vintagecomputing</a>
