But it does support QualComm QC 2 and 3 on the USB A port, providing up to 20V 2A there.
On the USB-C, it also supports USB PD 3.0 and PPS from 3.3-16V, 2-3A.

I tested one non-destructively for insulation resistance at 500V and as well as sustained USB output, and it passed just fine. But taking things a step further, here’s what’s inside.

One decent quality 2-layer FR4 PCB with solder mask and full silkscreen! If you were there last month, you probably remember the exercise we did where we improved the standby run time of a gadget (an electronic candle) from 15 hours to 30 days or more. Just now, while cleaning out my backpack for vacation, I found the gadget, with the same CR1220 coin cell still powering it in standby. Lit it just to make sure, and yep: 17 days later, it's still running.

Courtney Rosenthal
One of the most striking (sad) things I encountered at the recent Teardown 2025 event was how few of the people had Masto accounts. This seems like it would be a natural demo for the Fediverse: aggressively DIY, tech sophisticated, with a bit of a rebel streak.

I don't know why those folks aren't gravitating to Masto, but I do think if that was understood, we could unlock a significant barrier to adoption -- at least among the people I'd want to hang with.

#teardown #teardown2025
