Christoph SchmeesAndroid Flickentag 2025-09 – und was für einer!Im Juli hat Google überhaupt keine Flicken für Android veröffentlicht. Da hätte man glatt auf die irrige Idee kommen können, dass Android jetzt endlich stabil und sicher sei. Weit gefehlt, im Gegenteil musste Google seinen Flickentag vorziehen, weil zwei der jetzt geschlossenen Lücken bereits aktiv angegriffen werden (Zero-Day). Nach der Nullrunde im Juli kippt Google im September Flicken für 120 (!) Sicherheitslücken aus. Christoph SchmeesGoogle wird leider vorerst nicht zerschlagenKartellverfahren hatte Google (Alphabet) schon öfter am Hals. Bisher ist die Schokoladenfabrik stets mit einem blauen Auge (Zahlung von Vergleich oder Geldstrafen) davongekommen. Vor rund einem Jahr hatte ein US-Richter entschieden, dass Google mit seinen Monopolen gegen US-Wettbewerbsrecht verstieße. Da keimte schon Hoffnung auf, dass jetzt der Weg für eine Zerschlagung geebnet sei. Gerade hat derselbe Richter entschieden, dass Google sich nicht von Chrome oder von Android trennen muss. Christoph SchmeesMit Google-Maps gegen Over-TourismÜber Google-Maps und ihre Anfälligkeit für Fehler und Manipulationen habe ich schon öfter berichtet. Heute gesellt sich ein weiteres Beispiel hinzu. Man könnte es eine kreative Nutzung der Google-Algorithmen nennen. Wer weiß, wie die Algorithmen funktionieren, kann sie für sich einsetzen, so wie bei der provozierten Stauwarnung. War das noch eine künstlerische Aktion nur für den Spaß, haben die Einwohner/innen des niederländischen Badeorts Zandvoort (Provinz Noord-Holland) mit Googles Algorithmus für Verkehrsberuhigung in ihrem Ort gesorgt. Europa-Cloud?Spätestens angesichts der Kapriolen des unberechenbaren Horrorclowns von jenseits des großen Teichs ist hierzulande im öffentlichen Bewusstsein angekommen, dass wir als Deutsche und als Europäer gut daran täten, unsere IT unabhängig von den USA zu gestalten. Von "digitaler Souveränität" ist immer wieder die Rede. Aber von den Politikern, die darüber reden, versteht kaum jemand, worum es wirklich geht. Nehmen wir das Beispiel Cloud. Christoph SchmeesGoogle-Suche manipulierenGoogle selber manipuliert und fälscht, darüber habe ich schon öfter geschrieben. Weit weniger bekannt ist, dass die Suchmaschine von Google eine Möglichkeit zur Manipulation durch Außenstehende anbietet. Wie war das noch? Gut gemeint ist nicht gleich gut gemacht. Die Funktion, die sich missbrauchen lässt, heißt Refresh Outdated Content (ROC), auf deutsch "veraltete Inhalte aktualisieren". ROC führt dazu, dass der betreffende Inhalt effektiv aus Googles Suchergebnissen getilgt wird. Gemini erhält dafür Zugang zu allen Apps, auch zu verschlüsselnden Messengern. Lokal liegen die Inhalte ja im Klartext vor, und darauf will Gemini zugreifen. Ist das der Anfang von Quellen-TKÜ (vulgo Chatkontrolle)? YT und Google verfolgen die Besucher/innen mit allen Tricks. Das gilt auch dann, wenn man vernünftigerweise kein Konto bei Google oder YT angelegt hat oder sich zumindest nicht damit anmeldet.
