Background info: I like #Futo #LouisRossmann and the #ConsumerRightsWiki and planned to do a drive-by-contribution so that they get a proper logo.
And, yes, I DID search thoroughly for an existing logo. Now that I'm almost finished I turned on dark mode by accident and was baffled. Looks like all my work was for nothing.

#FUTO keyboard rocks. I'm no longer tempted to go back to Gboard. Their voice dictation is pretty good, although being whisper(AI)-based, it occasionally hallucinates strange things. XD

@rtsisyk @sgued I don't know about the real cause(s) of all of the recent drama, including the fork @CoMaps and inclusion of proprietary closed source code, but if it's money/funding, please just sell the app (like Ardour DAW for example).
#FUTO is on the right track when they say selling software should be normal, although I don't really like some of their licenses.

I have been on the lookout for a sensible Gboard replacement that wasn't making my (voice) typing experience painful, and so far only FUTO Keyboard managed to provide that.
It has really good offline voice typing as well, which is something I use a lot.
I can not recommend this enough!
Let it be known that I just paid for the #FUTO keyboard even though it's free and paying for it is just symbolic because it's a great app and they deserve the 8€
Vor ner Weile hatte ich ja ein wenig die Calyx-Tastatur-App bemängelt. In einem Kommentar gab es dann die Empfehlung für die Futo-App.
Ich sag mal so... Sehr viel besser ist die auch nicht als vorher. 
Die Wortvorschläge sind zwar minimal besser, aber selbst lernen tut diese App auch nicht. Ein Wörterbuch zu dem Zweck aufbauen kann man nicht, weil die entsprechende Einstellung dafür englisch ist, welche man nicht ändern kann. Es gäbe ein lernendes Modell, aber auch das ist englisch und nicht auf deutsch einstellbar. Andere Funktionen sind noch gar nicht verfügbar, weil auf der Webseite der App im entsprechenden Segment dann "under construction" steht.
Naja... Ein Versuch war es wert, aber ich bin echt nicht zufrieden, wenn man Worte x-mal schreibt und die App sie sich nicht merken kann. 
Mal sehen, was ich jetzt ausprobiere... 
I'm initially impressed with #FUTO's open-source keyboard. I'd already tried to find a good Google Keyboard replacement on fDroid, but came up empty handed. Not many FOSS keyboards support swipe.
While FUTO's swipe capabilities aren't quite as good as Google's, they are still surprisingly good. #OpenSource

@abeorch I'm still stuck on gboard. There's three things I need that a keyboard
- Multilingual without switching
- typing by swiping
- accurate voice dictation
#Futo already has that 3rd point covered with FUTO Voice Input (which uses a local Whisper model).
The second point they have as well, mostly. (They're only open source keyboard with an actual decent swipe to type system.)
But they don't have the ability yet to do language detection swiping.
For Android users, you might want to test the Futo keyboard. Its nice to set up and use, and is very privacy focused. Good keyboards are hard to find in Android (imo), and Im very keen to dump Swiftkey asap. You can download Futo from Fdroid too.
Update: after some comments recommending Heliboard, I'm also recommending that, I've just tested it. Really good.
