“Arrived at Hebrew 3! Here’s my nikud vowel system studies 😊

When I asked if she took calligraphy, she replied:

“I’m no artist, but Hebrew is inspiring something in me that wasn’t there before. My brain is starting to decipher Hebrew words when I see them.”

That’s the power of Hebrew. It’s not just a language—
It awakens something deep inside, connecting you to wisdom, prayers, and the soul of a people.

You’re not just learning Hebrew—
You’re remembering it. 💙

🚦 In Hebrew, there are plenty of ways to tell someone “hurry up!” (and I’ll teach you in today’s video 😉).

But when it comes to learning Hebrew? That’s the one place you don’t want to rush. It’s not a sprint—it’s a lifelong journey of discovery, step by step, word by word. ✨

Around half of the world's 7,000 languages are expected to be extinct by the end of this century. Five Books spoke to author Samantha Ellis about why this matters, and got five book recommendations from her on the subject. "With language go stories. Yes, you can translate those stories and tell them in a different language, but there is often something vibrant lost. With a language goes a sort of vibe, a style, a mode of speaking. So I do think it quite devastating that so many languages will be lost," she says.

Five BooksEndangered LanguagesWe asked Samantha Ellis—whose mother tongue, Judaeo-Iraqi Arabic, is on the verge of dying out—to recommend books on endangered languages

The stories your brain tells you about why you “can’t” learn Hebrew? Just stories.
I’ve seen students succeed at 78, after failing every school language class, even after “trying everything.”
Your age isn’t the problem. Your brain isn’t broken. You just need the right method.
Your Hebrew success story is waiting—ready to start? ⬇️

I have discovered that I can speak grammatically incorrect, vocabulary-deficient French, really quite well! Actually proud of myself for having the courage to talk with native speakers even knowing I'm making mistakes.

Big respect for migrants who get out there and practice the language of their new home.
