@yogthos Yes, it's true some people in charge of #NATO early on had a past in the German army. But this was right after the war, and the main idea was to bring West Germany into the group to stand strong against the #SovietUnion . They were picked for their military knowledge, not for their old loyalties. NATO has changed a lot since then, and this old history doesn't show what NATO is today.

Oh and another thought:
If you feel like the #sovietunion, or any #socialist or #communist state was an authoritarian hellhole, then I would not advise to threaten dissenting voices with laws that prohibit their dissent.
That is authoritarian and very much makes you the problem. You should reflect on that.
I do argue that anyone who knows the tiniest bit about socialism knows that it promotes equality and humanity.
Of course I'm not talking about fascist revisionism here.
