@jacqui76 And the DUP had for years a tame wanna-be lawyer/blogger outside their party, who we refer to as 🚮 [Jamie Bryson]. He’s now mostly fallen out with the DUP and supports 🪑[Jim Allister TUV MP]. Jamie specialises in taking failed legal actions to the High Court and occasionally to the Supreme Court. Last night was his latest stunt, where Judge McAlinden excoriated and humiliated him for wasting time. This is an action hoping again to topple the NI Protocol, The Windsor Framework and even the option of voting on it locally in Stormont. The local vote was demanded by the DUP, and now they don’t want it.
🚮 responded to Justice McAlinden by trying to lodge an emergency appeal, and wasn’t granted that either.
As you can see from his comments this morning, he’s taking the loss badly, and it’s hilarious.

Later this year the UK will introduce 'not for EU' labelling as part of the #WindsorFramework deal on #NorthernIreland.

The labels have already started to appear in some shops for some products, and the Food & Drink industry fears that such labelling will deter both customers & #investment in the UK's food/drink sector.

Recent headlines suggested customers took the view that this indicated sub-standard goods, whatever the actual quality....

Dennoch gibt es immer noch offene Fragen, die angegangen werden müssen, insbesondere wenn es um gleiche Wettbewerbsbedingungen geht. Wir müssen hohe Standards in den Bereichen Umweltschutz, Kampf gegen den Klimawandel, soziale Rechte und Arbeitsrechte aufrechterhalten.

How has the #windsorframework played out... well for the EU it seems to have done the job; the FT quotes an EU diplomat as saying:

'The Windsor framework has put a floor on the relationship. It frees the EU to deal with other issues elsewhere'.

In other words, having largely transforming most #Brexit related issues into problems for domestic politics (i.e. Northern Ireland), the EU welcome the ability to focus elsewhere.

'Rid us of this turbulent priest', indeed!
