I think it is fair to say that he really liked the plugin.

Trying #upwardCompression. The #LinuxStudioPlugins #Compressor can do it.
Actually the #LSP #plugin series is great, but the UI strongly conflicts with my preferences. It looks depressingly dark and low-contrast, and turning the knobs with the mouse is crazy. Perhaps I can get used to Ctrl+MouseWheel invoking the fast mode for the knobs.

Checked out the compressor. The pressure switch wasn't the problem, but at least it's adjusted now. And the PRV tested 
Looks like the motor capacitor is getting lazy. Not unusual, but a bit annoying given that this thing is maybe a year old and not used heavily.
Perhaps they used the wrong element. SeaKnight instead of AirKnight 
Ich habe mir jetzt auch mal ein #Pedalboard für den #Bass geholt und zusammengestellt. Mein #Verzerrer (#Darkglass AO) und ein neuer #Compressor (Joyo Scylla) sind drauf.
Hauptgrund war tatsächlich, dass der Darkglass keine Batterie hat und ich keinen Bock auf noch mehr Kabel hatte.. 
Deshalb lag die Zerre ewig rum, obwohl sie nicht ganz günstig war. Also hat mein neues Pedalboard jetzt einen großen Akku drunter geschnallt. 
Damit es nicht so leer ist, habe ich mir noch einen recht günstigen #Compressor geholt. Das ist das erste Mal, dass ich so einen nutze, aber YT wies mich recht deutlich darauf hin, dass man so einen durchaus haben will als Basser.. 
Und in der Tat: Der Unterschied ist nicht riesig, aber doch gut hörbar. Sehr angenehmer gleichmäßiger Sound!
Eine #Frage an die Pedalboard Bauer hier: Compressor vor oder nach der Zerre einstöpseln? Meinungen? So weit ich verstanden habe:
* Wenn nach der Zerre, dann würde er potentielles "Leerrauschen" des Verzerrers anheben, wie jeden leiseren Sound.
* Wenn vor der Zerre, verliert man die Dynamik des Verzerrers, der ja auf unterschiedlich starke Anschläge reagiert.
Ersteres scheint bei mir Null Problem zu sein, deshalb ist der Compressor bei mir jetzt hinter dem Verzerrer.
Wie auch immer: Der Darkglass ist einfach der Hammer. Ich habe seit dem ständig zwischendurch den Bass in der Hand und spiele, weil das üben mit dem Sound einfach total Bock macht!

It honestly feels unreal to me to have those outstanding plugins run perfectly smooth and natively within #bitwigstudio on #linuxaudio. 
I expect an announcement within a couple of weeks, as the beta testing is still ongoing and minor bugs are fixed.

Great, #Bitwig 5.2 has a stock #compressor, which I don't proactively hate ;-) I think the previous ones were quite horrible but this does the job (also glues nicely).

Some of you might've already spotted it and wondered, why does polarity have a €3000 Compressor just chilling in his room?
#Bitwig's Transient Control is pretty neat side-chaining device, which has one outstanding feature: attenuation/amplification factor for the body. Just the sake of an example Kilohearts Transient Shaper has a side-chain but body can be only amplified. Body attenuation is great for giving space in other percussions for a kick hit (works also for bass body). I wish there was equivalent VST available because it is really useful especially for more non-standard basslines where bass hits are all over the place at times..
