ing.gridHow to Make Bespoke Experiments FAIR: Modular Dynamic Semantic Digital Twin and Open Source Information InfrastructureIn this study, we apply the FAIR principles to enhance data management within a modular test environment. By focusing on experimental data collected with various measuring equipment, we develop and implement tailored information models of physical objectes used in the experiments. These models are based on the Resource Description Framework (RDF) and ontologies. Our objectives are to improve data searchability and usability, ensure data traceability, and facilitate comparisons across studies. The practical application of these models results in semantically enriched, detailed digital representations of physical objects, demonstrating significant advancements in data processing efficiency and metadata management reliability. By integrating persistent identifiers to link real-world and digital descriptions, along with standardized vocabularies, we address challenges related to data interoperability and reusability in scientific research. This paper highlights the benefits of adopting FAIR principles and RDF for linked data proposing potential expansions for broader experimental applications. Our approach aims to accelerate innovation and enhance the scientific community’s ability to manage complex datasets effectively.

Yay 🥳 !

#RDF N-Triples 1.1 and 1.2 and #Turtle 1.1 syntax test suites run from their official manifests, with my self-written #Rust test runner for RDF test case manfiests based on my RDF Graph ORM!

Thanks to @codecraft for work on the internal API and @epage for support with the #winnow parser library.

After toiling away at this for a few months, I'm releasing two new Go projects for the fediverse today:

  • longdistance, a JSON-LD processor.
  • pana, an ActivityStreams library built on longdistance.

I built these projects with the hope to make it easier for folks to get started building on the fediverse themselves. You can read a bit about this on my blog.

(If you happen to have computer touchers in your followers, I would appreciate a boost.)

The new #Rust #LinkedData framework @codecraft and I are building (#TaganakNet) is now at the point where it can:

* Map #RDF schemas onto Rust types (ORM-style)
* Use this to parse official @w3c RDF test suites from their #Turtle manifests
* Run the test-cases
* Succeed in running the test-cases 🥳

That's somehow dogfooding on a special level 😉 .

Still heavy WIP of course, but for extra curious eyes: codeberg.org/Taganak/taganak-s

Continued thread

Storing #RDF or #LinkedData is the easy part (I am working on #activitypub client, so everything is JSON-LD anyway), but as soon as I need to formulate queries like "Give me list of the activities from all the actors who are on the following collection of my user, sorted by published/updated date", the amount of data mangling that I need to do is already making me think "ok, why don't I just push all of this to sqlite?"

#couchdb experts (@janl, @nolan), any suggestions here?

This week’s edition of my @linkedin newsletter shines a light on the impact of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) across multiple computing eras—leading right up to today.

We’ve arrived at a moment where loose coupling principles are cool (and super useful) again.

Naturally, there are some live demo nuggets in the post to help bring it all to life:

🚀 LDMax: Linked Data publiceren, zonder gedoe!

Laten we in gesprek gaan! #LinkedData #Erfgoed #Cultuur

LDMax.nlLDMaxLDMax is een one-stop applicatie gericht op gebruiksgemak voor de instelling die Linked Data wil publiceren.

The Model Context Protocol acts as a universal translator between LLMs and data sources, eliminating complex platform-specific requirements. Our new open source MCP server for ODBC (mcp-odbc-server) enables seamless integration of any ODBC-accessible data into RAG pipelines.
