@Schimmelreiter Ja, das habe ich vor. Als kleinen Einstieg habe ich mit #Ubuntu angefangen (war auch meine erste Distribution), werde dann aber wahrscheinlich hauptsächlich zu #LinuxMint wechseln.

@fmutix Planst du auch, Videos für #LinuxMint zu machen? Ein- und Umsteiger landen ja zuerst oft bei Ubuntu oder Mint, da wäre sowas bestimmt auch nützlich. Auch wenn ich lieber Anleitungen lese und nicht als Video anschaue: Danke für deine Arbeit.

Täytyy sanoa, että olen vaikuttunut siitä, kuinka käyttäjäystävälliseksi hiottu tämä Linux Mint on. Tämän mun hyvin lyhyen kokeilun ja muiden ihmisten kokemusten ja suositusten perusteella voin itsekin lämpimästi suositella tätä jokaiselle, joka ei tykkää säätää tietokoneita tai Linux ei ole entuudestaan tuttu. Mulla on toki vielä kokematta, millainen tämä olisi pitempään päivittäisessä käytössä, mutta tietojeni valossa on vaikea keksiä, miten Mint voisi poiketa muista Linux-jakeluista ainakaan huonompaan suuntaan.
Asennus oli todella helppo ja selkeä. Heti sen jälkeen kirjauduttaessa ruudulle avautuva avustin (Tervetuloa!-ikkuna/aloitusnäkymä) on oikeasti tosi hyödyllinen ja ohjaa käyttäjää tekemään tavallisimmat ja tärkeimmät asetukset sekä opastaa muutenkin alkuun.

Welp, #PewDiePie has opened the floodgates to the #Linux community now that he's actually done a full video explaining his move to Linux, why he did it, and why he thinks others should ditch #Windows.
I honestly expected a nothing burger video with not much meaning/input to it, esp to someone who's already on Linux, but his points were pretty interesting. Some of his takeaways:
- He was tired of #Microsoft's bullshit concerning ads, #AI slop, and bloat - and how he really supports the idea of #FOSS, and gave the example of how cool it is that #Valve saw the issue on putting all of their/our eggs (shares) in Windows' basket and addressed that by building on top of an existing FOSS project, #Wine to then develop #Proton, which as a result has unlocked and enabled the expansive #gaming scene that we have today, not just for the #SteamDeck but all Linux users as a whole.
- He, surprisingly loves the customisation aspect of Linux and how everything is modular - which meant we could change things like the GUI (desktop environment) and customise it as desired. He even (appropriately) used the term, ricing lol.
- He, even more surprisingly, loves the fact that there are many Linux distros to choose from - when some find this to be somewhat a hurdle. He highlighted how you should just pick one and move forward, which is often true - this choice doesn't really matter as much these days (if ever). His choice was #LinuxMint, the distro he's tried 15 years ago.
- He noted how, like anything, Linux isn't perfect and there may be sacrifice(s) needed - like how some apps may only be available on Windows, for #macOS, and likewise for Linux. His sacrifice was #Adobe #Photoshop, but he was happy to ditch the thing (which costed him 60 USD just to unsubscribe), and his chosen alternative was... #GIMP - I know some might not agree, but he liked it 
- He mentioned how searching (locally) on Windows is garbage, and everyone knows that's just... objectively true. Like him, I too was amazed how local search actually JUST WORKS and is super fast on Linux, unlike on Windows or macOS.
- He noted how goddamn easy and intuitive installing/updating/managing apps are on Linux by using the system's package manager (app store), rather than having to look up the app installer online and dodging all of the shady sites with malwares and so on.
- As if this wasn't enough, Pewds really went down a fucking rabbit hole, almost putting to 'shame' for most, all average Linux users (incl myself) by literally installing/using #ArchLinux on his laptop, which is normal, 'cept he's not using a regular DE like #KDE or #Gnome but he instead, opted for a tiling manager, #Hyprland with #Rofi, #Waybar and all lol.
Anyway, it's a pretty cool video - and I underestimated Pewds' love for tinkering and using the terminal, so much so that I hope his users don't think that they actually need to use the terminal for the things he did haha.

ne brummschleife bekommt man weg, wenn man den nutlleiter am schuko stecker abklebt.
wenn linux kann man da sicher die stromspar funktion für die soundkarte abstellen, damit es keinen leerauf gibt

So sieht mich ChatGPT mit 78 Jahren. #linuxmint habe ich bei der Aufgabenstellung mit keinem Wort erwähnt!
Wie auch immer ... für meine Frau ist es okay. 
Am 12.04. hatten wir das mit Abstand best besuchte #LinuxCafe; die SSDs waren schnell ausverkauft, und sage und schreibe 21 Gäste konnten mit wenigen Ausnahmen einen funktionierenden #Linux Rechner mitnehmen; bei etwas schwacher Besetzung.

I know there are much worse things to be mad at Microsoft about, but my pettiest peeve is that I'm now trained to press enter and wait several seconds, when the OS login screen comes up. It doesn't make sense! What need is there to prevent password entry before i press the any key?

Ich habe gerade erfolgreich mit #WireGuard ein #VPN zwischen zwei Geräten (Mobiler PC mit #LinuxMint und #iPhone) und dem Heim-Netzwerk über eine #FritzBox eingerichtet. Das ganze hat weniger als 15 Minuten gedauert.
Netzwerkverkehr läuft über #IPv4 und #IPv6.
Das fühlt sich gerade ein bisschen zu gut an um wahr zu sein.

I'm about to install #Fedora42 on a neighbours new computer.
I know, I'm a glutton for support complexity.
But I think, having tried a bunch of OSes last year, while I didn't personally like Fedora for some specific reasons. It seemed really stable and suitable for end users compared to many Debian based systems that seemed to be falling all over themselves recently.
Maybe it's money. Perhaps it's organisation. not sure.
