#Moodlebox für #Exkursionen nutzen.

Ob auf Berggipfeln, in Sümpfen, am Südpol oder in der hintersten Ecke eines #Schulgebäudes - mit der #Moodlebox spannst du dein eigenes #WLAN und stellst eine #Lernplattform zur Verfügung. Ein gängiger #RaspberryPi genügt dafür.

Wäre es nicht prima, wenn man sein eigenes Internet in der Tasche hätte und an jedem Ort dieser Welt zur Verfügung stellen könnte? Zumindest im #Bildungsbereich ist dies möglich.

I have been trying out the Raspberry Pi 4 hosting from Mythic Beasts

My configuration is
#RaspberryPi 4 4x2GHz, 8GB RAM, 4T/month with 8GB Disk space and is £16.92 per month (cheaper per quarter or year).

I installed #Moodle with #NginX and Mariadb and ran the Benchmark tool
moodle.org/plugins/report_benc

It returned 474 points and with the disk as a bottleneck. Performance seemed acceptable for the trivial tasks I have done so far.

I had an excellent Saturday at MootJapan24 . Rob Hirschel and Chris Tempest demonstrated the Moodle Driprelease tool that controls the availability of Quizzes by date.

This can save a huge amount of setup time and prevent the “bunching” of activities.. Then there was a remote presentation from@martin@openedtech.social
mainly about the upcoming impact of #AI. I had long interesting chats about the use and potential of #moodlebox (Moodle on the Raspberry Pi)

I have been experimenting with self hosting LLM's, e.g. github.com/jmorganca/ollama and thinking of getting the responses to be based on a cron to allow for slow responses. I would like then to work out what is the cheapest single board computer to run it on so it could be a companion to the #moodlebox raspberry pi installation of #moodle #mootjapan24

Wie kann ich die #Moodlebox mit dem Internet verbinden, wenn ich nicht daheim bin. Also ich verbinde mit mit den Laptop mit der Moodlebox mit dem W-Lan des Pi, aber ich möchte dass ich dann noch aufs Internet zugreifen kann, so wie daheim, wenn ich den Pi per Ethernet an den Router hänge. Unterwegs hab ich keine Router, den Mobilen Hotspot kann ich ja nicht nehmen, weil der Pi hat das eigene W-Lan. Idee war, Accespoint mit Ethernet an Pi und AP in Hotspot vom Handy. Geht es leichter?

Hallo #moodlebande, ich habe ein kniffliges Problem / eine knifflige Herausforderung mit meinem #moodle und der #moodlebox.

Ich arbeite zB von 9.00 Uhr bis 12.30 Uhr mit Teilnehmern in einem Gebiet wo es keine mobilen Daten / WLAN gibt.

Ab 14.00 Uhr sollen die Teilnehmer am selben Kurs, mit ihren am Vormittag erarbeiteten Daten / Inhalte von zu Hause weiter arbeiten können.

Am nächsten Tag dann wieder auf der Moodlebox.
