Take a step back and rethink.
I just have to remind and practice it more often, because it helps.
I just been diving deep into solving a (tech) issue, building yet another function, one more here and there. Until I realized that all this makes it very complicated. Is this really the right way? So I took a step back and saw it can be much simpler, just start (again) from another angle.

#Introduction
I've been on Mastodon for quite some time now, but under another name. I started a new account because I decided to take a step back from world news, collapse, climate change, hunger, war, fascism and inequality.
In short less doom and gloom and a little bit of positive small scale projects that might also inspire or help others.
With this account I'll focus more on my day to day life, the things I do and make.
Of course I sometime still will post concerning subjects that provoke my rage or frustration. Sorry, it's not all moonshine and roses.
Having said that, I've a broad range of subjects that have my interest, so hopefully something useful will stick with you.

eSIM "needs an awareness campaign", says one company that sells #eSIM. That's #BS.
eSIM needs a #rethink by some operators. If you can't activate an eSIM while #Roaming, if you are charged $10 everytime you install the eSIM on a different device, the eSIM is not a #service but treats the #customer like the #enemy. Shove it.
Ich muss mal ein #Dank loswerden, an die #Entwickler von #Rethink. Ein Tool, mit dem man sich echt ein großes Stück Kontrolle über seine Daten zurückholen kann.

@IzzyOnDroid My procedure is: do not insert SIM card, do not add wifi password. Skip everything (it worked on my Android 14). Enable developer options, sideload #Rethink or some other other firewall/VPN, enable "block all traffic" in it. remove bloat with https://github.com/Universal-Debloater-Alliance/universal-android-debloater-next-generation/wiki/Getting-started. Only then add wifi, whitelist #fdroid app, and continue installing #FOSS stuff... I miss the good old unlocked bootloader days when first thing I would do is flash bare CyanogenMod without GooglePlay and then continue
